The folks from ADITA assume nothing.  Although disk one of this twin DVD set runs only 73 minutes, it covers material I've never seen discussed in a software training tutorial.  Heck.... most manuals don't even cover this stuff.

Lesson 1 begins with a general product overview, a detailed review of system considerations and desirable PC requirements.  This is followed a segment on preparing your PC and making it ready to install your Liquid Edition Pro hardware and software follow.  The video even counseled me on using Norton Ghost (or a similar product) to back up my system drive.  I could not help but feel I was was interacting with a tech support person who (1) really knows the product and (2) really cares about my ability to understand what he was saying.

The quality and presentation were excellent, easy to understand and easy on the eyes.  ADITA's approach uses a very tightly constructed script and professional voice over technique.  Mastering Liquid Edition covers all the basics one will encounter.  I was hoping to learn more about color correction and Dynamic Time Warp, bit those modules are not part of this initial tutorial.  These topics will be covered much more in detail in future tutorials.

The training style used by ADITA is very deliberate.  While some may feel it is a bit repetitive... I don't.  Repetition instills learning.  Those elements which are repeated are done so for a reason.

Epiphany

Having moved from a Premiere A/B editing background, I have had a difficult time coming to terms with the concept of single line editing.  Although I have heard plenty of explanations, nobody really laid it out so that this 50+ year old brain could comprehend it.

Now, for the first time, to my satisfaction, the concept of single line editing has been explained clearly and concisely.  Those crazy error messages saying that there is insufficient content to do a transition is now fully explained.   And to make things even better, the tutorial shows how to avoid that problem now and in the future.

I had (what is commonly refer to as) a BGO... a Blinding Glimpse of the Obvious.  The answer was right there in front of my eyes.  All I needed was a clear explanation.

Disk two begins the process of really learning how to edit with Edition.  It goes into great detail about basics such as, logging video, "real world" editing, understanding LE audio, special effects and of course DVD authoring.

The single element that differentiates this tutorial from others I have viewed is detail.  While other tutorials touch on the features and delve into their basic functionality, ADITA goes much deeper into explaining what the feature is, when to use it and how to use it. As questions occurred to me, I wrote them down, expecting to send off an email to secure an answer.  To my pleasant surprise, most of the questions we answered just a short time later.
