This tutorial is presented by Mike Gunter, a Adobe Certified Training Provider and concentrates on tips and techniques for navigating and using Photoshop tools to enhance video editing projects.  This tutorial is not for the Photoshop novice and requires more than a casual knowledge of Photoshop.

While the tutorial does touch on several methods to jazz up video graphics, Gunter's intimate knowledge of Photoshop does not translate into an effective teaching style.  He quickly navigates Photoshop's daunting user interface with a narration aimed more at people like himself as opposed to less technical individuals such as myself.  I found myself consistently asking WHY certain techniques and features were employed.  Rarely was I presented with an on screen answer.  This was a constant distraction throughout the 2 1/4 hour video.

To say that I learned nothing from watching this video would not be true.  I did pick up tidbits here and there but definitely need to go back and concentrate on those sections.  Considerable detail went into Photoshop's incredible "automation" capabilities (i.e. Actions and Droplets) but frankly, that is more suited for an advanced course - not this one.  With the exception of some very minor rotoscoping, masking and bug creation functionality, I saw little in this tutorial that really focused on the videographer.

Recommendation:  While the audio visual quality of this DVD was acceptable, I was not overly impressed with it's content. In my opinion, there are other products on the market that teach Photoshop fundamentals better and in a more direct way.
